For the Record: Regie reports Quebec market revenues

* Gross distribution revenues in the Quebec theatrical market, including theaters and cine-parks, for the u.s. majors were $51.8 million for the year ending March 31, 1995, according to the annual report from Regie du cinema, the government’s administrative tribunal for film/video classification and distribution.

The Regie reports revenues of $13.6 million for Quebec distributors. Combined revenues for all distributors in the home video market was close to $149.5 million. Revenues from the sale of films to television were $20.9 million.

Last year, the Regie administered 982 licences for theatrical exhibitors, and more than 5,000 home video retailers.
