wic is vying for Niagara Television, a rebroadcast of chch-tv in Hamilton with news originating in the Ottawa area. If the application succeeds, Niagara will create 25 jobs and plans to build a news studio and master control center in Ottawa. Start-up time would be six to nine months.

chum has applied for licence to rebroadcast Citytv. Deadline for applications is Sept. 15.
