montreal’s DHD Postimage has acquired an Onyx sgi workstation and the Discreet Logic animation f/x and editing package, Flame.
Dominike Brunnelle, Montreal gm, says the $750,000 package is being used to produce computer f/x on two features, Darkland and Ocean Boy, both from Vancouver-based Everest Entertainment.
dhd’s Montreal facility will have an online ‘virtual studio’ link with dhd in l.a. within six months, says Brunelle. The new l.a. production operation is headed by dhd founder and president David H. Donald, producer John Lambert and line producer Suzannah D’Arcy.
dhd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Greenlight Communications, Toronto, a media communications company whose interests include HealthLink Communications, Internet Canada, IKON Systems, Biolink, and a 55% participation in Everest.
