* The Canadian Film and Television Production Association has a new president, Elizabeth McDonald, formerly vp programming services at the Canadian Cable Television Association.
* The Canadian Film Centre’s Feature Film Project has named its advisory committee for round two: Jeremy Podeswa, Moira Holmes, Steve Lucas, Deszo Magyar, Wayne Clarkson and Sundance Institute programmer Christian Gaines. ffp head Colin Brunton says he’s received about 25 to 30 scripts so far, generally of a better quality than in the pilot round. Brunton hopes the first project will be approved by mid-August.
Also in ffp news, Blood & Donuts is in advanced stages of negotiations with Malofilm for a distribution deal.
* Veteran filmmaker Jerry Brandt has been appointed business agent for the Association of Canadian Film Craftspeople West.
* Francois Forgues, a former commercial producer with Productions Diva and Productions Monique Huberdeau, has joined Figaro Films International.
* Renee-Claude Menard, former public relations executive with Cabinet National, has joined the TVA Television Network as its new director of communications.
