* Citing dissatisfaction with Videotron’s community performance, the crtc handed down short-term licence renewals for cable systems in Montreal, Quebec City, and Victoriaville, ranging from two to four years.
Videotron must devote 3.5% from the base portion of monthly revenues to its Montreal and Quebec community channels, the greater portion of which must go to the acquisition or production of programs.
The licence for Cap-de-la-Madeleine was renewed until 2001. The crtc also stipulated that Videotron must increase the funding of the community channel in Victoriaville to match that of Cap-de-la-Madeleine.
