SODEC reorganizes

into six-department

structure

Officially launched April 1, sodec, the new Quebec cultural funding and certification agency, has been reorganized into six major departments.

Michel Fortier takes over as administration director, responsible for legal affairs, human resources and communications.

Pierre Leblanc heads up cultural industries financing, which includes responsibility for financing in the communications sector and certification of Quebec film and tv production.

Martine-Andree Racine has been named interim head for cultural industries, responsible for book publishing, recording and variety performances, and regional and national associations.

Pierre Lampron, sodec president, assumes temporary charge of the cinema and audio-visual production department, responsible for business affairs, production and development, assistance to the young creators program and the foreign producers’ office. Domestic marketing programs aimed at distributors, exhibitors, cultural publications and film events will also be managed by this department.

Bernard Boucher has been named head of the research and international affairs department, responsible for foreign services, the activities of the former Institut quebecois du cinema, and all foreign-related marketing programs including apex, the marketing program previously administered by Quebec’s International Affairs Ministry.
