vancouver: Gastown Post and Transfer and Gastown Film Labs merged this month with Rainmaker Imaging and Rainmaker Interactive to form Rainmaker Digital Pictures Corporation.

Rainmaker founder Bob Scarabelli is president of the new venture and Tom Locke, president of Gastown Post, becomes chief financial officer.

The merger strengthens the company’s position as a leader among post facilities in providing full service from lab through to digital film effects.

Rainmaker plans to go public in the late spring. No details were available at press time, except that the company will not be listed on the vse.

All four companies will continue to operate as independent entities with their own management and operating staffs.
