Box Office Addendum

Two Canadian films, Titanica and Le secret de jerome, were inadvertently omitted from the 1994 Box Office chart on page 4 of the Feb. 13 issue of Playback.

Titanica, Imax’s top-grossing Canadian film of ’94, pulled in $2.4 million at the Canadian box office last year.

Phil Comeau’s Le Secret de Jerome, distributed by Allegro Films Distribution, was released in theaters in September in Quebec and the Maritimes. It took in $76,332 at the box office, and continues its run in selected theaters in the Maritimes.

In addition, the $242,943 1994 box office figure listed for Matusalem was incorrect. According to director Roger Cantin, the film hit theaters Dec. 17, 1993 and reported $358,000 in receipts in its first two weeks. By March 10, 1994, Matusalem, also released by Allegro, had reported a box office total of $1.2 million, of which more than $800,000 was earned in 1994.
