On Dec. 1, Cancom (Canadian Satellite Communications) began satellite distribution of The Fox Network fare via wuhf’s broadcast signal (Fox’s Rochester New York affiliate), to cable systems in small, remote Canadian communities.

While large Canadian cable systems may only carry three of the four u.s. commercial nets plus pbs on basic (with a fourth net available as part of a discretionary cable package), the three-plus-one crtc ruling does not apply to cablers serving small communities, where all four may be offered on basic.
