DeNure, Zayed step up

Alliance Communications has announced two recent promotions: Steven DeNure, formerly senior vice-president of creative affairs, is now president of Alliance Productions, and Rola Zayed, formerly vice-president of Alliance International, has been promoted to president of Alliance International Television.

Alliance International has also announced two new positions: Michelle Kearney has been named vice-president of Latin American and Asian tv sales and Jean Michel Ciszewski becomes vice-president of European tv sales.

Coprod opportunities

a new decision to increase the level of independently produced programming for France 2 and France 3 could mean more opportunity for Canadian coproductions with the two major French networks. The networks recently agreed with the independent production union uspa to up the level of independent programming from 15% to 17%.

More good news is that 5.5% of the 17% allotted for independent production can be European productions, thus allowing for more English-language coproductions with the networks.
