Mary Maddever has been promoted to managing editor of Playback and Allison Vale has joined the publication as a staff writer covering broadcasting, commercial production and post-production.

Maddever has reported on a variety of industry sectors for Playback and has been special reports editor for the past two years. She also is editor of Playback’s international glossy magazines, Playback International and Canada On Location.

Vale moves to Playback from its sister publication, Strategy, which, like Playback, is a bi-weekly trade publication, and covers the marketing and advertising industry.

In her new role, Maddever will oversee the Playback news operation, reporting to executive editor Mark Smyka.
