Vancouver-based production company Crescent Entertainment has entered the distribution game with the formation of Crescent Releasing late last month.

Crescent president Harold Tichenor says the company’s new initiative reflects its need to develop markets for its own productions as well as those from other Western Canadians.

Crescent also announced a new mutual-representation arrangement with Catalyst Entertainment of Toronto.

Catalyst will handle world television sales of properties for both companies while Crescent will concentrate on marketing dramatic titles to the home video market and developing new computer-based media.

Jayme Pfahl has been appointed managing director of the new division and Karen Powell is marketing director.
