Fabrique, Cinoque

team up for S.W.A.T.

Montreal: La Fabrique d’Images, a high-end spot shop, and Cinoque Films, one of the city’s more prolific music video houses, have launched a specialty commercial boutique under the S.W.A.T. Film banner.

s.w.a.t. president Michel Raymond says the company’s market mission is to launch new directorial and craft talent in a service approach as a solution to reduced shooting budgets. They will work in video, 16mm or 35mm film.

‘The operation is a cost-effective alternative for clients, including smaller agencies with less electronic output,’ says Raymond.

‘Obviously, these directors are less expensive than most directors on the market,’ he says. ‘But there’s lots of creativity. They have the experience, but they’re younger, generally in their late 20s.’

s.w.a.t.’s directorial lineup includes Jim Donovan, Alain Desrochers, Bernard Nadeau and others in the Cinoque fold. Pierre Fyfe and Jacinthe Arsenault are the shop’s producers.

First assignments for s.w.a.t. include spots for Bovet, a retail clothing chain, Galerie de la Capitale and a Via Rail promotion.

Cinoque recently ended a one-year association with Pierre Lalande’s Cinelande, while director Donovan worked out of Fyfe’s former retail shop, Films Ricochet.

s.w.a.t. and Cinoque offices are located at 4330 Papineau.
