VanderBurgh named
TVOntario recently announced the appointment of Clive VanderBurgh as executive producer, development, children’s programming. The newly-created part-time position allows VanderBurgh, a professor of tv production at Ryerson Polytechnic’s School of Radio and Television Arts in Toronto to continue teaching.
VanderBurgh, a recipient of the Children’s Broadcast Institute Award of Excellence, has been associated with tvo since 1973 as advisor, producer and director of children’s programs including the long-running series Today’s Special.
VanderBurgh will be responsible for the development of new series for children aged six to 11, an ‘underserved audience’ in VanderBurgh’s view.
The appointment is part of a larger strategy at TVO to revitalize children’s and educational programming.
