CPAT to host marketing seminar
Now that it’s taken the mountain to Mohammed, the Commercial Production Association of Toronto wants to take Mohammed to the mountain. Translation? Last year cpat took its ‘marketing show on the road’ to New York and Chicago to wide critical (read: agency) acclaim in both centres. (cpat reports that both trips generated ‘work for Canadians. Business that has benefited not only Canadian production companies but crews, studios, equipment suppliers, labs, caterers, actors, hotels, airlines, etc.’)
This year, cpat hopes to generate a similar response among Toronto ad agencies with a Toronto marketing seminar intended to showcase Canadian production talent.
The chair of cpat’s marketing seminar committee, Candace Conacher, says the seminar should come off in March. While date, place, time and other details are yet to be announced, Conacher says she’d ‘value your input.’ Call her at 416-463-1559.
cpat members only: if you want to submit a spot as a contender for the Show Reel cpat will roll at the seminar, get on it right away as the deadline for submissions is Jan. 31. Keep in mind that the reel will only be 10 minutes in length, so cpat’s board will only allow ‘the very best’ to make the cut.
Direct submissions to: Spot Film & Video, 23 Fraser Ave., Toronto, attention Al Lindsay or Jim Hardie. Non-members who want a shot at being represented on the reel are advised to get a membership, tout de suite.
