TVA a fall winner
Ratings are up sharply at the TVA Television Network, due in large part to popular new programs launched in November.
Two of the new shows – Fort Bayard, an adventure-style game show, and Les Grands proces, re-enactments of famous Quebec crime trials, placed among the top 10 network programs for the week of Nov. 4-10, according to Sondages bbm.
Radio-Canada and tva each had five shows among the top 10 network performers, with Radio-Canada’s 11-hour historical drama Blanche leading the pack with a network audience of 2.8 million.
Second and third place went to the tva teleroman Chambres en ville with 1.9 million viewers and Fort Boyard, which drew over 1.8 million.
Rounding out the top 10 shows on Quebec tv for the period were Radio-Canada’s Surprise sur prise (1.7 million), Radio-Canada’s Cormoran (1.64 million), tva’s long-running teleroman Chop Suey (1.55 million), tva’s Les Grands proces (1.4 million), tva’s Poule aux oeufs (1.4 million), Radio-Canada’s Taquinons la planete! (1.37 million) and Radio-Canada’s Sous le ciel variable (1.35 million).
According to bbm, 12 of the 21 Quebec network programs with audiences of over one million aired on tva.
