Jason Goode makes feature debut with Numb

First-time feature director Jason Goode has started the cameras rolling on Numb, a thriller that stars Battlestar Gallactica’s Jamie Bamber and Marie Avgeropolous.

Goode’s most recent shorts are Late, The Hitchhiker, Pop Switch and The Planting, which played extensively on the festival circuit.

Andre Harden wrote the screenplay for Numb, which also stars Aleks Paunovic and Stefanie von Pfetten. Rounding out the cast are Paul McGillion, Gina Chiarelli and Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies).

And Goode won the backing of producers Dylan Jenkinson and Robyn Wiener, both Canadian Film Centre alumnus, and executive producer Nicholas Tabarrok (The Art of the Steal, Defendor).

For financing, Numb has a licence fee from Super Channel, and coin from Telefilm Canada and Rogers Telefund, in addition to tax credits from shooting in the Okanagan region of British Columbia.

The indie portrays a couple in financial distress that discover a map promising a lead to stolen gold. To get there, they must partner with a pair of mysterious hitchhikers to enter the remote winter wilderness and recover the coins.
