CMJ Productions II Inc.

Investigation Discovery has renewed two non-fiction series from independent production company CMJ Productions II Inc.

The network ordered a second, six-episode season of the hour-long documentary series A Stranger in My Home. The show tells the true stories of what happens to residents after they invite strangers to live with them.

In addition, Investigation Discovery renewed the hour-long documentary series Fatal Vows for a 13-episode third season. Fatal Vows is based on court documents covering divorce and murder court proceedings.

Tricon Films & Television

Tricon Films & Television has sold two IFC US original comedies – Maron and The Birthday Boys – to Bell Media.

Maron (23 x 30 minutes) is based on comedian and podcaster Marc Maron’s life and his successful WTF podcast, while The Birthday Boys (10 x 30 minutes) is a sketch comedy series that features talents from the comedy troupe of the same name.

Both series will premiere on Bell Media’s The Movie Network on March 6. The sale of the two series is part of an agreement between Tricon and Bell Media for IFC original series across the company’s pay TV and specialty platforms.

9 Story Entertainment

Toronto-based 9 Story Entertainment has announced the sale of the award-winning animated preschool series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (80 x 11 minutes) to Nick Jr. Italy.  The deal was made through Italian distributor Funwood Media. The series is scheduled to be broadcast by the channel in March 2014.

The series launched in 2012 on PBS KIDS in the U.S. and CBC in Canada. It has also been licensed to Disney (Russia, SE Asia, Latin America), SRC (French Canada), ABC (Australia), Canal+ (France, Africa), France 5 (France), Super RTL (Germany), Hop TV (Israel), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), Zee Learn (Indian Subcontinent), E Junior (Middle East), True Visions (Thailand), Digiturk (Turkey), TVNZ (New Zealand), IRIB (Iran), SVT (Sweden) and Luk International for Spain and Portugal.

DVD sales have also been made to ABC Commercial (Australia) and Universal Music (Germany) through Super RTL.

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is coproduced and distributed by 9 Story Entertainment and The Fred Rogers Company.
