As Bravo’s 19-2 debuts this week, Content Television has picked up the international distribution rights to the English-language adaptation of the popular Quebec cop drama.
“Even prior to its debut, 19-2 presents a well established history of success, with CBC’s original French-language version receiving excellent reviews and consistently winning its timeslot in the A25-54 demographic,” Greg Phillips, president at Content Television & Digital, said in a statement ahead of the NATPE market.
Content Television has long ties to CBC programming with its sales catalogue, including series from the public broadcaster that includes Beachcombers, Fashion File, The Hour and The War Between Us.
19-2 will bow on Bravo on Wednesday night, with CTV to debut the 10-episode, one-hour drama co-produced by Sphère Média Plus and Echo Media on the following day, Thursday.
Content Television will handle international rights outside of Canada across all platforms.
Set in Montréal, 19-2 follows the lives of patrol officers Ben Chartier, played by Jared Keeso, and Nick Barron (Adrian Holmes).
The origional French-language cop drama aired on Radio-Canada in Quebec.
