L.A.-based Canadian scribe Graham Wagner has secured a pilot script commitment with NBC for comedy series The Younger Man.
Produced by L.A-based Small Dog Picture Co. and 20th Century Fox TV, Wagner will exec produce The Younger Man with Small Dog’s Jason Winer and development exec Renate Radford.
EP and director Winer’s credits include the Modern Family pilot and first season, New Girl and Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23. He last year formed his own TV shingle when his overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV was renewed. Radford earlier this year left NBC as a development exec to board Winer’s company.
Actor Justin Long and his brother Christian will co-exec produce, with Justin Long expected to star in The Younger Man.
The series focuses on a 30-year-old man married to a woman more than 10 years his senior, as they raise their teenage son and make their marriage work against the scorn and questioning they endure from their friends and family.
Wagner was recently a writer on IFC’s comedy show Portlandia, and producer on the final season of The Office on NBC.
He is repped by Meridian Artists and ICM.
