Kevin McDonald to star in APTN pilot Delmer and Marta

Kids in the Hall alum Kevin McDonald has been cast in upcoming APTN comedy pilot Delmer and Marta, from Edmonton-based Mosaic Entertainment.

The show also stars Sheldon Elter and Howie Miller as Delmer and Marta, two characters from Mosaic’s sketch comedy series Caution: May Contain Nuts.

The series will focus on the pair relocating the fictional town of Morningside, Alberta, and adjusting to life in the big city. Marta will also take on a new job as the host of a local morning news show, and McDonald will play the eccentric and pompous station manager.

Delmer and Marta also stars Shaun Johnston (Heartland), Patricia Zentilli (Lexx), Jason Cermak, Allison Lynch and Todd Houseman.

Former Kids in the Hall director Michael Kennedy is helming the comedy pilot, while Alan Rae and head writer Matt Alden are in the writers’ room. Mosaic exec producers are Camille Beaudoin, Jesse Lipscombe and Eric Rebalkin.

The pilot will shoot in Edmonton on Feb. 25 to 28, and is slated to air on APTN later this year.
