Having helped Lionsgate Entertainment grow its digital business, Jon Ferro has jumped over to Entertainment One to help them do the same.
Los Angeles-based Ferro was Lionsgate’s EVP of TV distribution and digital sales until a March 2011 restructuring saw him exit the Vancouver-based mini-major.
Now Ferro joins Toronto-based Entertainment One as SVP of U.S. program sales, where he will oversee American TV, VOD, SVOD and digital sales to grow the Canadian company’s licensing revenue.
“Jon is an innovative executive with wide-ranging experience selling television across all platforms in the US,” Peter Emerson, president of Entertainment One Television International, said in a statement.
Ferro will manage the indie producer’s partnerships with online and other digital partners and sign up new output deals with digital platforms like iTunes, Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and YouTube, with whom he did business while at Lionsgate.
Before joining Lionsgate, Ferro was SVP of TV sales at Artisan Entertainment, which was eventually acquired by Lionsgate.
