Nelvana Enterprises has signed a U.S. home entertainment deal with Los Angeles-based Shout! Factory for its classic The Adventures of Tintin series.
The U.S. distribution deal will see 39 half-hours of the 1991 HBO animated series about an investigative reporter and his dog Snowy be released on DVD.
The announcement was made by Shout! Factory’s founding partners Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos and Colin Bohm, managing director of Nelvana Enterprises.
No word on the DVD release date, but it will likely be timed with the Christmas 2011 theatrical release for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn 3D, a motion capture movie from director Steven Spielberg.
