Eyeing Torontonians lining up at the Apple Store for tablet computers and smartphones, Citytv has launched its CityNews iPad and iPhone App.

The ad-supported interactive app is available for free, and will feature local news, weather, sports and traffic reports for the Toronto market.

The Citytv app enables users to share stories and break local news via their mobile device by uploading videos, photos, news tips and stories to the Citytv newsroom.

Earlier Citytv apps out of parentco Rogers Media include the Shorts in the City offering for iPhone and iPad and the Citytv Video app for the iPad, which quickly rose up the charts at iTunes Canada.
