Magnolia Films has acquired all US rights to Jacob Tierney’s Good Neighbours. The film, produced by Park Ex Pictures and distributed through Alliance Films in Canada and Myriad Pictures internationally, stars Jay Baruchel (She’s Out Of My League, Knocked-Up), Scott Speedman (Underworld: Evolution, xXx: State of the Union) and Emily Hampshire (The Trotsky).
The deal was negotiated by Tom Quinn, Magnolia’s SVP of acquisitions, and Myriad’s CEO and president Kirk D’Amico and SVP business affairs David Ducar.
The film, which had its world premiere at TIFF 2010, was written and directed by Jacob Tierney, produced by Kevin Tierney and executive produced by Kirk D’Amico and Joe Iacono.
The thriller is the tale of a serial killer on the hunt in the dead of winter, stalking three residents of a small apartment building.
“Jacob Tierney has crafted a fun, twisted thriller with a great cast that elicits just as many chills as they do laughs,” noted Magnolia’s Quinn.
