Sinking Ship teams with the Wiggles for animated series

The series is in early development and will centre on the Wiggles' extensive music catalogue.

Toronto’s Sinking Ship Entertainment has teamed up with famed Australian children’s group the Wiggles to develop an animated series.

The series was announced today (Oct. 21) at MIPCOM by the Wiggles CEO Luke O’Neill and Carla de Jong, Sinking Ship’s head of coproduction and international partnerships.

The series is currently in early development and will involve an original concept centred on the Wiggles’ music.

“Moving into animation opens up new creative possibilities that will allow us to connect with preschoolers and families in unique ways. It’s the natural next step in the evolution of the brand and we’re thrilled to be a part of it,” said de Jong in a statement.

Sinking Ship’s first fully 3D-animated series Builder Brothers Dream Factory premiered on Treehouse in Canada on March 26, 2023. The company has also provided animation service for Nickelodeon’s Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.

Earlier this month, the company announced it had joined forces with Australian studio Cheeky Little Media to coproduce the new CG-animated series Flower & Flour (39 x 7 minutes).
