Eight selected for 2024 CFC, CBC Actors Conservatory

The six-month program begins at the CFC campus in Toronto on Sept. 3 and runs until Feb. 28, 2025.

The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) and CBC have named eight performers for its 2024 CBC Actors Conservatory.

The goal of the six-month program is to expand the actors’ reels and enhance their acting abilities while also growing their professional networks.

The 2024 program residents are Theresa Cutknife (Diggstown) from Samson Cree Nation in Maskwacîs, Alta.; Anna Morreale (Transplant) from Hamilton, Ont.; Eva Foote (Murdoch Mysteries) from Edmonton; Emidio Lopes (Most Dangerous Game) an Angolan-Canadian actor based in Toronto;

The other four residents all hail from Toronto: Taelor Lewis-Joseph (Abroad) Filipino-Canadian actor Aldrin Bundoc (Abroad); Arianna Laya-Garcia (Macy Murdoch); and British-Canadian actor Ed Pinker (Locke & Key).

“This program and our longstanding partnership with the CBC is all about nurturing and celebrating the incredible contribution actors and actor/creators make to the storytelling process and to the stories that need to be told,” said CFC executive program lead Kathryn Emslie in a statement.

The CBC Actors Conservatory runs from Sept. 3 through Feb. 28, 2025.
