Vanessa Case has been appointed as VP of content for Paramount+ and Pluto TV in Canada.
The former Vice Media and Blue Ant Media executive (pictured right) assumed the role on Jan. 22, a spokesperson for the company confirmed to Playback Daily. The position was previously held by Katrina Kowalski, who was promoted to SVP of international content, programming and acquisitions for Pluto TV last October.
Case announced the new role in a LinkedIn post, saying the position will see her play a “key role in defining and executing the streaming business content strategy across Canada.”
“Working closely with both local and the global teams across the business, I will focus on maximizing Paramount’s internal brands and content, coordinating third party acquisitions, overseeing original content decisions and developing innovative windowing strategies to drive growth in streaming,” wrote Case.
Case most recently served as SVP, global head of unscripted production at Vice Media, among other roles at the company.
Prior to that, she was EVP content at Blue Ant Media, where she also held the roles of EVP, programming and production, and EVP, programming and marketing, during her five years there.
