CTV medical drama Transplant will end this fall with its fourth season.
Bell Media announced Wednesday (Sept. 13) that the Sphere Media-produced series will air its final 10 episodes beginning Oct. 6. It is produced in association with CTV and Universal International Studios.
Series creator, showrunner and executive producer Joseph Kay said in a statement that he “always intended a four-season window” into the life of lead character Bashir, played by Hamza Haq.
The final season is written by Kay, fellow EP Rachel Langer, Kinana Issa, Ahmad Meree and Basheer Amin, with the latter three also serving as cultural consultants alongside Kutaiba Hajirah. Directors on season four are EP Stefan Pleszczynski, Chloé Robichaud, Jeanne Leblanc, Caroline Labréche and Samir Rehem.
Bruno Dubé, Jocelyn Deschênes, Josée Vallée and Sarah Timmins are also executive producers of the series. NBCUniversal Global Distribution handles worldwide distribution.
The cast includes Haq, Laurence Leboeuf, Ayisha Issa, Jim Watson, Rekha Sharma, Sirena Gulamgaus, Torri Higginson, Kenny Wong, Sugith Varughese and Gord Rand.
Transplant has garnered 15 Canadian Screen Awards since it debuted, including three consecutive performance awards for Haq and two Best Dramatic Series wins.
“From the beginning viewers embraced Bash’s story and the incredible world Joseph created, and we’re incredibly proud to have been part of the journey,” said Justin Stockman, VP, content development programming at Bell Media in a statement.
