Network Media Group appoints Curtis White as president

The former Thunderbird exec will lead the Network Entertainment parentco's capital media strategy.

Former Thunderbird Entertainment executive Curtis White (pictured) has been named president of Network Media Group.

The Vancouver-based company announced the appointment Monday (May 15). White has worked with Network Media Group and its subsidiary Network Entertainment for the last 18 months in a consulting capacity as a business development executive, which includes Network NFT Studios.

In a statement on his appointment, White said he will be focused on the formation of a “capital market strategy that will provide the resources to scale, and that delivers optimal value to shareholders.”

White spent more than a decade at Thunderbird Entertainment in finance and business development roles, including head of digital. He was a founding member and financier of the company when it launched in 2003 as Thunderbird Films.

He is also a managing partner at Vancouver’s Caliber Ventures, a tech and new media fund for B.C.-based businesses.

Network Entertainment primarily produces documentary films and series. Recent titles include the docuseries Legends of Hockey: Greatness Calling 2000-2020 and music documentary feature Anne Murray: Full Circle.

White will be “laser-focused on enhancing Network’s capital market aspirations,” said Network Entertainment founder and CEO Derik Murray in a statement, adding that White’s appointment is “an important and needed step forward for Network.”

Network Media Group chairman Ali Pejman added that White’s “unique set of skills and experience in media and the capital markets will be an invaluable addition as we evolve our boutique studio into a global content leader.”
