Swin Chang has joined E1 Television, stepping in at its Toronto office as director of development of kids and animation.

The position will see Chang oversee the company’s current slate of projects, in development for both the Canadian and U.S. markets, the company said Wednesday. She will report to kids and animation SVP Frank Saperstein in L.A.

Chang was previously at Family Channel and its sibling Playhouse Disney Canada, where she worked on series including Life with Derek, Overruled and The Latest Buzz.

‘We are proud to welcome Swin to the E1 team,’ said Saperstein in a release. ‘In her broadcast roles, I have consistently been impressed by the quality of her choices. She has the ability to hone in on the unique elements which make a TV property viable.’
