Cineflix Rights hires Mike Gould as new SVP of digital

The Cineflix Media-owned distributor created a new position as part of a strategic push to grow its digital business.

Cineflix Rights has appointed Mike Gould to the newly created position of SVP of digital as part of a strategic push to grow its digital business, particularly in the AVOD and free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) spaces.

Gould (pictured) begins his new role at the Cineflix Media-owned distributor on Oct. 6, and will report to Tim Mutimer, CEO of Cineflix Rights, while working alongside the international sales team. Mutimer joined the company last year from Banijay Rights.

Gould’s remit includes increasing Cineflix Rights’ revenue streams through tapping into the company’s multi-genre slate to deliver long- and short-form content across all digital platforms, complementing the existing sales model. He will also lead and shape the company’s plans to launch FAST channels later this year, according to a news release.

Gould was previously VP of global digital partnerships at London-based distributor All3Media International. He was responsible for expanding its digital platform partnerships, leading its AVOD and FAST distribution strategy, and managing self-publishing activities. Before that, Gould worked for Dutch-based media company Endemol Shine Group in a senior digital distribution and partnership position. He was also with BBC Studios in a digital partnerships position.

Mutimer said in a statement that with Gould onboard, the company plans to expand its AVOD business “and take direct control of our FAST activity to grow it strategically.”

Gould added that “as the U.K.’s largest independent distributor, with a broad catalogue full of in-demand IP, Cineflix Rights is perfectly placed to capitalize on the range of opportunities across AVOD and FAST.”
