The Vancouver-based service production network has partnered with B.C. equipment suppliers Peacemaker Filmworks and Showmax Events to launch the midsize LED studio.

jason daviesVancouver’s End2End Media Group has formed a joint venture with British Columbia-based equipment suppliers Peacemaker Filmworks and Showmax Events to launch a mid-size volume LED studio in Burnaby.

Peacemaker LED Studios includes 3,300 square feet of studio space, a 650 square foot LED stage — with three LED walls plus a 14 foot ceiling – as well as on-site technical support and additional office space. The stage is able to apply Epic Games’ Unreal Engine technology for virtual production as well as video plates. Financial terms of the joint venture were not disclosed.

The facility is designed to be accessible for small to mid-size productions in B.C., as well as second units on large-scale productions, according to End2End Media co-founder Jason Davies (pictured) in a statement, allowing them to “develop high quality productions at affordable production rates.”

End2End Media, which serves as a network for service productions in Canada, will also provide access to “business services, tax credit management, currency hedging, payroll services, financing, VFX and access to Canadian distribution,” for studio clients, as well as pre-production VFX work and location shots for use in-studio. The studio is available for service and domestic producers and is accepting bookings for March.

“By making this technology available to producers through an integrated turn-key process, we believe local producers will gain immediate benefits which will drive more success for their productions overall,” says Davies.

Peacemaker Filmworks is a specialty camera team and equipment supplier in Burnaby, B.C., which has provided services for films such as Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Deadpool 2. Showmax Events is based in Vancouver and provides LED panels for film and TV productions, as well as virtual production support.

Canada’s virtual production infrastructure has grown in recent years. Equipment supplier and studio operator William F. White International struck a $30 million partnership with VFX company Pixomondo to build LED volumes in Ontario and B.C., including one of the largest virtual production stages in Vancouver.
