E1 Entertainment Canada has acquired the rights to the Atom Egoyan-directed thriller Chloe for a Christmas 2009 theatrical release.
The acquisition comes ahead of a gala world premiere for the Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson-starring drama at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Egoyan’s remake of the French director Anne Fontaine’s Nathalie was shot in Toronto, and portrays a successful doctor hiring an escort to seduce her cheating husband.
France’s StudioCanal financed the picture, with Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock producing via their Montecito Picture Co. shingle.
E1 Entertainment released earlier Egoyan titles, including Adoration and Where the Truth Lies.
‘Chloe is a stunning film which is sure to garner much critical and commercial attention,’ E1 Entertainment co-president Bryan Gliserman said in a statement.
