Portfolio closes multiple sales

Portfolio Entertainment has closed a raft of international sales for its food-themed programs including Everyday Exotic, Chef Abroad, It’s Just Food, Chef at Home and Chef at Large, for a total of 200 hours.

The shows will air in territories spanning Europe, The Middle East, and Africa.

Discovery Networks Asia nabbed 39 episodes of Everyday Exotic — in which host Roger Mooking offers tips on cooking with exotic ingredients — while New Zealand’s The Living Channel scooped up 26 eps.

The Toronto distributor also sold three shows featuring Canuck chef Michael Smith, sending Chef Abroad to Discovery Networks Asia, Travel Channel Europe and France’s Cuisine TV, while Ukraine’s Menu TV picked up three seasons of Chef At Home. The Asian Food Channel also signed up for 52 eps of Chef at Home, in addition to renewing season five of Chef At Large.

Other shows that sold include French Food At Home, to Poland’s Kuchnia TV, Korea’s Elle TV and Israel’s Ananey Communications, while Kuwait’s Pyramid Entertainment Exports picked up It’s Just Food, the how-to show for culinary newbies.
