* On My Mind (w/t), a 6 x 1/2-hour drama series coproduced by The Film Works of Toronto and Minds Eye Pictures of Regina, began principal photography Aug. 21 in Regina.

Budgeted at $1.45 million, it’s the province’s first indigenous tv drama series.

Featuring the life experiences of four boys and five girls from different emotional, ethnic and economic backgrounds, the series has a cast of child actors, aged seven to 12, chosen primarily from Saskatchewan.

The series will be funded by SaskFilm, scn, tvo, Telefilm, ctv, Vision TV, the Maclean Hunter Fund, Cable Production Fund, Shaw Children’s Programming Initiative, nfb and Access Alberta.

* With a total of 884 hours of programming scheduled for broadcast in Canada in the upcoming season, Toronto-based Fremantle of Canada Ltd. has rung up a 27% increase over last season.

Among the series sold for the new season are Grace Under Fire, which has been renewed for a third year by Global, and international success Baywatch.

Baywatch will be seen for the first time in French Canada this season over Telemetropole.
