Moose TV joins APTN fall sked

APTN kicks off its fall TV season Monday with three new shows — including the Adam Beach-starrer Moose TV — while its news division is adding two current affairs series to the Friday supper hour.

The half-hour comedy Moose TV, which originally aired on Showcase, features Beach (Law & Order) along with Nathaniel Arcand (Da Vinci’s City Hall) and Jennifer Podemski (Moccasin Flats) in a story about life in a small town after a local television station is re-opened. It debuts on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.

The channel is also premiering two original current affairs shows, In Focus and APTN Investigates — both to be hosted by Cheryl McKenzie. The half-hour shows will alternate broadcasts on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. In Focus will be centered on in-depth analysis of current events, while APTN Investigates focuses on news stories affecting Aboriginal Peoples.

Returning to APTN this fall are new seasons of comedies including By the Rapids, Mixed Blessings and animation Wapos Bay.

For kids, joining the network is Double Trouble, an Australian show about aboriginal twin girls who swap lives, and Little Bear, about the adventures of a curious bear and his friends.
