Cream names Johnny Kalangis head of digital

The former marblemedia and CBC exec will oversee Cream's digital efforts with an emphasis on expanding its reach into emerging digital content and distribution spaces.

jonnyToronto factual entertainment company Cream Productions has appointed veteran digital media and interactive executive Johnny Kalangis to the role of head of digital.

The new role will see Kalangis (pictured) overseeing Cream’s global digital efforts with an emphasis on expanding the company’s reach into emerging digital content and distribution spaces.

Cream has produced an array of content and products including VR series in co-production with Hulu, American Heroes Channel, Investigation Discovery, Lexus-Toyota, the Globe and Mail, SIRT and various industrial partners since 2015.

The company’s VR/AR credits include A Curious Mind with Dominic Monaghan for Hulu as well as Oak AR, an augmented reality game, among others.

He will report directly to president and co-owner Kate Harrison Karman.

Kalangis was previously VP of creative, digital, and creative director at marblemedia in Toronto. Before that he served as executive in charge of digital and interactive entertainment at CBC Digital, Radio and Television.
