ESPN owns a piece of Outdoor Life. ctf decisions are coming too late to enable broadcasters to effectively plan their fall skeds. Compromises on the C-55 decision could have implications for the future of film and tv policy.

These are the kinds of issues that might draw the ire of Playback editor Allison Vale. But someone else will be pondering these peccadilloes from now on.

We had some sad news this week when Playback Editor Allison Vale let us know she’s resigning her position to return to a freelance writing career. Allison has been with Brunico for five years, and has played a key role in developing and building the Playback publications. Her contributions are too great to list, but can be summed up best by the fact that her commitment to precise, timely content has contributed to Playback’s position as one of the best trade publications in Canada.

Allison’s talent and her cogent-and-funny editorials will be hugely missed, as will her passion for crtc hearings and bad take-out on many a late-night press night. Although Allison will be around for awhile, hanging in during the transition period, we want to take this opportunity to wish her well in her future endeavors, and thank her for all the great industry coverage she has helmed – and for sharing the laughs, the tears, and the ups and downs of working at Brunico. It won’t be the same without you, Al.
