Producer Richard Switzer to direct A Daughter’s Ordeal

Cameras are now rolling in Toronto for the thriller, which stars Natalie Brown (pictured) and is produced by Dawn's Light and High Star Entertainment.

natalie brownProduction has started in Toronto on the thriller A Daughter’s Ordeal, set to wrap in mid-August.

The film serves as the directorial debut of producer Richard Switzer. High Star Entertainment’s Bruno Marino will produce the film alongside Switzer, under the director’s Dawn’s Light production banner. It is written by John Burd.

A Daughter’s Ordeal follows a divorced woman who struggles to maintain her relationship with her daughter when a new friend complicates their life. It stars Natalie Brown (The Strain), Lisa Berry (Supernatural), Sarah Fisher (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Alexa Rose Steele (Level 16).

The film is partially financed through private equity and Ontario tax credits.

Switzer and Marino previously collaborated on the action film Black Water, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Marino is also a producer on the sci-fi thriller Enhanced, starring Adrian Holmes and Elvis Stojko, which is now in post-production after going to camera in Jan. 2019.
