eOne
eOne has inked a deal with Polish SVOD service ShowMax for a number of eOne-produced scripted series, including Haven (pictured) and Hell on Wheels. Under the deal, ShowMax will take the streaming rights to Welcome to Sweden (seasons one and two), The Firm (season one), Halt and Catch Fire (seasons one to three), as well as all five seasons of both Haven and Hell on Wheels. Haven, produced by eOne, Big Motion Pictures and Pillar/Segan/Shepherd, aired on U.S. net Syfy from 2010 to 2015. In Canada, Haven aired on Showtime.

MK2| Mile End
Recently formed Montreal-based distribution outfit MK2 | Mile End has acquired a raft of French-language feature films, including Cédric Klapish’s Back to Burgundy and Jean-Stephane Bron’s The Paris Opera. The distributor also acquired Canadian rights to Martin Provost’s The Midwife (Curiosa Films), Xavier Giannoli’s The Apparition (Curiosa Films) and Julie Bertuccelli’s Claire Darling (Les Films du Poisson) from French producer/distributor Memento. Meanwhile, from Paris-headquartered prodco Pathé, MK2 | Mile End picked up the rights to Abdellatif Kechiche’s Les dés sont jetés and Xavier Beauvois’ Les gardiennes.

Since it opened for business in January, the company has also acquired Mathieu Almaric’s Barbara and Guillaume Gallienne’s Maryland, both of which were picked up from Paris, France- and L.A.-based producer Gaumont.

Spin Master
Nickelodeon has renewed a number of its top-rated animated series, including Canadian-produced series PAW Patrol and Rusty Rivets. PAW Patrol, about a young boy called Ryder who leads a pack of dogs that work together to protect the shoreside community of Adventure Bay, is produced by Spin Master, with Toronto-based studio Guru Studios handling animation. The series was renewed for its fifth season, consisting of 26 new half-hour episodes. Rusty Rivets airs on Teletoon in Canada. It is produced by Spin Master with animation from Jam Filled Entertainment. The show was renewed for a second season (26 x 30 minutes).
