Just one week removed from its premiere, U.S. streaming service Hulu on Wednesday confirmed a season-two renewal of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel, the Toronto-shot series is produced by MGM Television for Hulu, with Toronto prodcos Take 5 Productions and Whizbang Films overseeing production.

Cinespace VP Jim Mirkopoulos confirmed to Playback Daily that the series would be returning to the studios’ Kipling location. No timeline has yet been outlined for when filming will begin.

Bell Media also confirmed that Bravo has picked up season two of the show. At the end of March the media co announced it had acquired the Canadian linear and streaming rights to season one of the series for Bravo and CraveTV. On Bravo, the 10-episode first season debuted with a two-hour premiere on April 30. For the duration of the first season, the show will air at 9 p.m. each Sunday.

Created and written by Bruce Miller (The 100), the TV adaptation is executive produced by Daniel Wilson (The Handmaid’s Tale movie), Fran Sears and Warren Littlefield (Fargo), Take 5′s John Weber and Whizbang’s Frank Siracusa.

Other project confirmed to shoot at Cinespace this year include Syfy’s The Expanse, which was recently renewed for a 13-episode third season, and the HBO movie Fahrenheit 451.
