The lineup for the program, which aims to showcase high-quality television programming from around the world, did not feature any Canadian titles. The Primetime screenings will include Q&A sessions with the show creators.

Heroes Reborn, a 13-episode event series from Heroes creator Tim Kring, will have its world premiere at TIFF, with episodes one and two to screen in the Primetime program. Casual, a series from Hulu and Lionsgate created by Zander Lehmann and directed by Jason Reitman, will also have its world bow at TIFF. The first two episodes of Casual will screen at the festival. The first episode of Trapped, created by Baltasar Kormákur, will also have its world bow at the festival.

Other world premieres in the Primetime program include Lucia Puenzo and Nicolas Puenzo’s CROMO (Argentina) and the Netflix original doc Keith Richards: Under the Influence (USA) from director Morgan Neville. Episodes one, two and eight of CROMO will appear in the Primetime program. The second season of France’s The Returned, created by Fabrice Gobert, will have its international premiere at TIFF. The program will feature episodes one and two of the series.
