Corus launches TreehouseGO

The company kicks off its TV Everywhere strategy with the preschool-focused app.

Corus Entertainment has made its move into the TV Everywhere space with the launch of TreehouseGO.

The new app opens up off-linear TV access to Corus’ Treehouse channel content, which targets Canadian preschoolers, aged 2 to 6.

The launch is the first in what Corus promises to be a suite of TV Everywhere apps, designed to target and capture off-broadcast audiences. Kids is an especially fraught space, with young viewer habits increasingly shaped by the swipe-and-view experience offered by tablets.

As a TV Everywhere product (as opposed to standalone mobile product), TreehouseGO is available only to those that subscribe to its TV services. TV Everywhere products are meant to augment, rather than replace, cable subscriptions.

Content on the new app, which has been released for iOS and Android, will include Little Charmers, Octonauts, Toopy & Binoo, Bubble Guppies and Mike the Knight. Episodes will be full-length and can also be watched live through the app.
