CTV has promoted Robson Arms from mid-season to fall, and added the third run of the sitcom to the tail end of its Monday night lineup of comedies, where it will follow Corner Gas, newcomer The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men, the network announced Thursday.
The new season will also feature Dave Foley, who joins the ensemble cast as an eccentric American who buys the apartment building in which the sitcom is set. The former Kid in the Hall will appear alongside returning cast members John Cassini, Gabrielle Miller and Fred Ewanuick, among others.
Robson debuted in the summer of 2005 and returned earlier this year to the net’s Saturday night lineup, where it held its ground against CBC powerhouse Hockey Night in Canada, drawing between 300,000 and 400,000 viewers per episode. Its move to Monday puts it up against the second halves of Intelligence on CBC, the Global hit Heroes and the untested E! drama K-Ville.
CTV made a similar move last season when Degrassi: The Next Generation was promoted to the fall schedule, though its ratings suffered amid the steep, American-made competition.
The 13 x 30 third season of Robson is shooting in Vancouver at Omni Film Productions, slated to wrap in November.
