CTV orders up season nine of MasterChef Canada

The Bell Media network announced the early renewal two weeks before the season eight finale.

Bell Media’s CTV has ordered a ninth season of MasterChef Canada (pictured) as the culinary competition nears its season-eight finale on Dec. 16.

The deal for the new season was brokered by Banijay Rights, the distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment. Season nine is scheduled for production in spring 2026, with casting currently underway.

CTV brought back the 11 x 60-minute Canadian edition of the global format this year after a four-year hiatus, with Toronto-based McGillivray Entertainment Media (MEM) taking over production duties from previous producer Proper Television.

The revamped series features a new panel of judges consisting of previous MasterChef Canada winner Mary Berg, Hugh Acheson and Craig Wong, all of whom are returning for season nine.

“With our incredible judges at the helm, and our valued partners at MEM, we’re ready to take a fresh season of this beloved series out of the oven,” said Justin Stockman, Bell Media’s VP, content development and programming, in a statement.
