Hot Sheet: Hazbin Hotel soars in Canadian demand

Netflix's Stranger Things was the runner-up for the week of Nov. 3 to 9.

Prime Video’s Hazbin Hotel skyrocketed in demand in early November, following the release of the first four episodes of season two.

According to Parrot Analytics, the adult animated series was 100.2 times more in demand than the average show in Canada during the week of Nov. 3 to 9, leading both the overall and digital originals charts.

That figure marks an increase of more than 25 points from Hazbin Hotel‘s previous week average of 74.4. The series’ second season premiered on Oct. 29, with the third and fourth episodes dropping on Nov. 5.

Netflix’s Stranger Things landed at No. 2 on both charts, with a demand average of 67.7. The first four episodes of the series’ fifth and final season debut on Nov. 26.

HBO’s It: Welcome to Derry, which streams on Crave in Canada, dropped to No. 3 on the overall chart following its debut at No. 1 the previous week. The prequel series, based on Stephen King’s novel It, had a demand average of 52.6.

Further down the chart, Hulu’s All’s Fair made its debut on the Hot Sheet as the No. 4 digital original following its series premiere on Nov. 4.

Netflix’s Selling Sunset returned to the list for the first time since 2024 following the debut of its ninth season on Oct. 29. The real-estate reality series landed at No. 6 on the digital originals chart, with a demand average of 24.3.

Parrot Analytics calculates its Top 10 lists using Demand Expressions, which are shown by using a metric that demonstrates how much more in-demand the top series are than the average TV show (linear, pay TV, SVOD and AVOD) in Canada. For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market. Demand is defined as the total audience demand being expressed for a title within a market. Audience demand reflects the desire, engagement and viewership, weighted by importance; thus, a stream or download is a higher expression of demand than a “like” or comment.
