Omnifilm adds Sophie Morgadinho as unscripted director

The former Anaïd Productions executive will oversee all business aspects of unscripted development and production for the Vancouver prodco.

Sophie Morgadinho (pictured) has joined the executive team of Vancouver-based Omnifilm Entertainment as director of non-scripted production, a newly created position at the company.

Effective Nov. 3, Morgandinho oversees all business aspects of Omnifilm’s unscripted development and production, with a focus on budgeting, crewing, logistics and management, and all legal and financial deliverables. She is based in Vancouver, and reports to chief business officer Cathy Schoch.

An industry veteran of more than 15 years, Morgandinho was previously VP, production at Vancouver’s Anaïd Productions, where she worked on such series as Corus Entertainment’s Hoarder House Flippers, Hip Hop My House for Paramount+ and AMI-tv’s Ness Murby: Transcending.

Morgandinho’s hire follows a number of significant executive promotions at Omnifilm this June, including VP Brian Hamilton taking on the newly created CEO role and Schoch being upped from head of business affairs to chief business officer.

Omnifilm’s current and prior unscripted projects include CBC’s Must Love Dogs, Knowledge Network’s Transplant Stories and Bell Media’s Jade Fever and Bush Wreck Rescue.

“[Morgandinho] is a welcome asset to our growing non-scripted team, and we look forward to benefiting from her experience and leadership on all types of non-scripted formats,” said Schoch in a statement.
