Blink49 Studios and Piller/Segan have entered a multi-year joint venture to contribute financial and creative resources for the development and production of a slate of premium scripted and unscripted content.
According to a news release, the venture is designed as a hub for new projects and aims to build long-term IP and franchises across genres, supporting crossover opportunities for concepts that can live in multiple formats.
In addition, Piller/Segan will expand its development capacity through the appointment of an executive who will work closely with Blink49 leadership, and source and guide projects under the partnership.
The venture builds on the long-standing creative relationship between Blink49 CEO John Morayniss and Piller/Segan partners Shawn Piller and Lloyd Segan, who collaborated on Private Eyes and Haven during Morayniss’ tenure as Entertainment One Television CEO. The trio have since worked together on Wild Cards for CBC and The CW.
“With our combined financial commitment and infrastructure, Blink49 Studios and Piller/Segan are well-positioned to deliver globally resonant storytelling and provide creators with the resources they need to succeed,” said Morayniss in a statement.
“This venture gives us the reach and flexibility to champion a wide range of projects — from supporting established voices to cultivating fresh talent,” added Segan. “Together, we’re building a dynamic environment where creators can take risks and bring ambitious ideas to life.”
