The Crave original series features an ensemble cast including Keeso, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, Adrian Holmes and Quebec MMA legend Georges St-Pierre.

Toronto’s New Metric Media has begun principal photography on the Crave original I Kill the Bear, created by and starring Jared Keeso (Letterkenny, Shoresy).

Originally teased at Bell Media’s 2025 upfront, the six-part comedy series follows a generational family of bear wranglers for film sets that have decided to make their latest project their last. The project began rolling Wednesday (Oct. 1) in Sudbury, Ont., under the direction of Dan and Sean Skene.

Starring alongside Keeso is an ensemble cast that includes Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, Quebec MMA legend Georges St-Pierre (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Adrian Holmes (19-2), Jonathan Torrens (Trailer Park Boys), Sarah-Maude Beauchesne (Bellefleur), Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Dylan Playfair (Letterkenny), Eliana Jones (Shoresy), Frederick Roy (Shoresy) and Megha Sandhu (Painkiller).

I Kill the Bear is produced by New Metric Media in association with Play Fun Games, and will premiere on Crave in 2026. New Metric is distributing the series internationally.

Keeso, who wrote the story with Trevor Risk, is an executive producer alongside Dan and Sean Skene, and New Metric’s Mark Montefiore and Kara Haflidson. Max Wolfond is the supervising producer for New Metric.
